Residential tile installation
Residential floors, entries, kitchens and measured layouts.
Residential tile installationStart with one room. Tell us which room it is, what is on the floor or wall now and what you want in its place. Photos and rough measurements are enough to start; the details get checked at the room before any tile is ordered.
The room’s length and width, a photo of the current surface and the tile you have in mind. A product name or a store link is fine. Mention anything you have noticed, such as cracked grout, a soft spot in the floor or a door that already rubs. If you have not picked tile yet, we can still talk the room through.
A shower wall and the floor outside it are different jobs. Grout and tile do not stop water on their own, so shower walls need a waterproofing layer that matches the backing board and the setting materials. On the bathroom floor, the questions are how high the new floor will sit, how it meets the hallway and whether the subfloor is flat and stiff enough for tile.
Square footage is only part of it. Tearing out old tile, leveling a floor, waterproofing a shower, small or patterned tile and lots of cuts around fixtures all add labor. Tile and setting materials are priced apart from labor unless the written proposal says otherwise. If removal uncovers damage nobody could see beforehand, we stop and go over it with you before doing extra work.

Tile removal and floor prepNo. We can start with the room, its rough size and the surface that is there now. The tile needs to be chosen before the quote is final, because some products call for different setting materials or prep.
Sometimes. The old tile has to be firmly bonded and flat, and the added height has to work at doors and where the floor meets other rooms. If any of that fails, taking it out is the better option.
Yes. Commercial tile installation is one of our four services, along with residential tile, bathroom and shower tile, and tile removal and floor prep.
Send the room, its rough size and a photo if you have one.
